Work should give alcohol rations like sailors used to get!
Meditation is not trying to stop thinking because that is not possible. It is more like noticing the thoughts but not jumping on board the train.
Have you tried meditation?
Do you have a lot of caffeine? Try stopping.
If you use THC try switching to CBD
Otherwise just stay busy so there is no time to think
Maybe it murdered its sibling.
So it could eat more KFC from the local bins itself !
“I’m 100% convinced that most of those denials were being made because the staff that was there were overburdened to the point of just blanket denying shit to make their KPIs”
And I am 100% convinced this type of thing is not an accident. Because why would an insurance company WANT to pay out more than they have to? Instead they slash staff which saves money on pay AND claims and the company can blame any drop in quality on the reduced staff!
It’s genius except for the part where they are killing paying customers!

80·2 天前For those wondering how a parking fine can be 100K, it’s actually many smaller fines:
“However, one of the cars has to be parked slightly over the grass in Martinez’s yard, in violation of a local property-maintenance ordinance, which has led to a $250 fine every day since 2021”

1·3 天前Once Were Warriors
Once Were Warriors is Alan Duff’s harrowing vision of his country’s indigenous people two hundred years after the English conquest. In prose that is both raw and compelling, it tells the story of Beth Heke, a Maori woman struggling to keep her family from falling apart, despite the squalor and violence of the housing projects in which they live. Conveying both the rich textures of Maori tradition and the wounds left by its absence, Once Were Warriors is a masterpiece of unblinking realism, irresistible energy, and great sorrow.
Dysfunction, alcoholism, domestic violence.
But it’s not funny, sorry OP.

Yeah I am a big fan of Cormac McCarthy and I haven’t read The Passenger yet so I will be.
Probably find some more dystopian fiction since that is great as well. Maybe it will be The Hunger Games

To meet the ideological requirements of Ingsoc (English Socialism) in Oceania, the Party created Newspeak, which is a controlled language of simplified grammar and limited vocabulary designed to reduce a person’s ability to think critically.”
