Covers are important! For me, I get a lot of information about the book by its cover. That and the blurbs - yes! Plus, each genre has a certain cover style - so I can also get an idea about the book’s genre.

I do buy print books. I love them, I love the way they look in my apartment, and the sight of them makes me happy.
Joan Didion, Marguarite Duras, David Mitchell.
I’ve watched many of his interviews, and I totally understand what you’re saying.
Good question. I actually don’t re-read books, because there are so many new ones to discover!
sorry… “relevant”
omg, can’t count them all! The Scarlet Letter, Moby Dick, A Separate Peace, … As an adult I realize they are excellent books, but as a kid they just drove me nuts with boredom. The problem was the reading lists (this is back in the 70’s) were not relavant. I couldn’t relate to these books. It wasn’t until I was in college and beyond that I learned to love reading again.
Good question! I read novels when I need to distract myself from worrying. I read them all the time, but if I’m anxious I HAVE to get to the library.
Hobby would be something to do with theater! Acting, writing - or perhaps singing. Something in the arts. If I had the talent, it would be painting portraits!
You are definitely supporting the author when getting the book from the library!!! It’s so difficult for writers to get libraries to buy their books.
I think you’re doing fine - no need to change anything! What is more cozy than piles of books on the bed. Piles of more books in the livingroom. Going from one book to another is a fabulous way to read. Read what you want, at the moment you want it. Put it down and pick up something else if you get bored.
Good suggestion! I love Goodreads app, it’s so perfect.
Thank you, I will check it out!
Thank you, kath, I will certainly get the audio book!
Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles. It’s a huge, long book, but I finally delved into it - and it turns out to be one of my fave books of all time.
Reading a novel, for me, brings me into another world. I love to lose myself in books. Reading posts on Reddit is fun and interesting, but it doesn’t draw me in.
Good question. No, LOL, I never read outside of my comfort zone. Although it’s ok because my comfort zone is pretty wild.
