I’d recommend “Stalin: History and Critique of a Black Legend” by Domenico Losurdo.

In it, Losudro brings up the ‘thornier’ parts of Stalin’s history and contextualizes those moments in history. To me, he does a convincing job of explaining all of the ‘Great Man’ myths we hear about Stalin, and that so much of these unexamined anecdotes just lived on as myths/legends about the man.

I believe he has a few chapters about work camps and explains and contextualizes them in a nuanced way. Really enlightening book and I think it would answer some of the questions you might have about Stalin.

The ICC has opened up a portal for people to submit evidence of Israeli war crimes. Yes the ICC is a paper tiger and lib, but having internationally documented and recognized evidence of Israeli war crimes is a good thing. I know we have this thread documenting their war crimes but if there happen to be any Palestinians lurking here and/or witnesses to these crimes, this may be an opportunity for you to officially submit your evidence of Israeli war crimes.

I’m seeing some back and forth on Twitter about who can/should submit so I’m just deferring to what @JFAorg is urging on Twitter (just Palestinian families so as to not clog the submissions with wrong/ill-formatted data). But maybe that will change? Also, I don’t know if Justice for All is a legit org.

It should be noted that the ICC is different from ICJ (where South Africa is planning to submit a claim of genocide). AFAIK, ICC is people vs states and ICJ is states vs states. Anyone else have any thoughts or anything to add?
