When I peed my pants in them in the 2nd grade. My parents got some for me in high school, but they were so tight I could not wear them.

Yeah… I’m not sure anymore that pre-builts are the best NAS machines. Looks like I’m buying piecemeal.
Picture I linked looks like it will fit.Actually…
I think Deep Glacier is cheaper if you’re backing up less than 8 TB, so I think I may have to go with Backblaze if I end up using up all 12 TB. Really depends.
Thanks, I’m saving this. I’m very unacquainted with plumbing / carpentry so I wouldn’t have thought of this.
yep, that one. They claim it has a 2tb hd in it so the 3.5" is most likely populated, but good catch! I also have extra cables lying around, so cables won’t be a worry.
creative
I hope not too creative. I think there’s some standard adapter online.

Edit: I was downvoted for this, but it’s genuinely a more affordable alternative to Backblaze whose finances are questionable.

I like the jab here but I don’t like how some of these deepfakes are indistinguishable from real life if you remove some context and view it on a smartphone

I can see a lot of US businesses getting hurt this way from the volatile auction-based tariff prices (out my ass) by losing customers or having to eat the loss.
This looks like they started eating pasta and then started fighting to death over future pasta-rights
I’m graduating a year later too.
I highly recommend the man pages versus what is on Google. Type ‘man’ or ‘man -k’ to search them. Also available on the web for your particular distro.
Also you might wanna increase the block size in dd. And, it might be faster to use dump and restore, since that isn’t copying empty space.
dirtycrowto Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Everyone Is Cheating Their Way Through CollegeEnglish5·6 days agoI’m in the camp that has used it to summarize my own essays or read chapters. I had it write me bullet points for the weekly chapter discussions that I would then rephrase. It was definitely a weak excuse to use AI, but most of AI-use is weak anyways. To be honest I will go on a long limb to plan my time and finish an assignment without it, be it writing or programming. I think it’s shameful to use any AI tool for that, so I’ve done all writing through manual reading and notetaking, which I think offers my real ideas. So I can say I am proud of myself for doing all (or most) writing myself, with the exception of some of those discussion reply posts. What I think is weird though is how shamelessly people will use it in public. To me GenAI is like pornography- it’s taboo. This geography class I was in had participation polls and this fat kid in front of me would just paste the question into ChatGPT every time, even if it was easy if you thought about it, had paid attention, or looked at the choices. That’s what’s scary to me, is the transition from its use case in anxiety/sleep deprivation/mental health situations to just pure laziness and dependency. It is a reason I really dislike GenAI and try to never rely on it for creative or learning purposes.
We’ve definitely seen the effects that social media and technology has on us; it’s made us addicted and dependent on online communities rather than speaking to each other, etc. (I’m not arguing anything about this). So it’s not a stretch to say that GenAI is going to affect our ability to think and problem solve to some degree, which is terrifying.
I think the AI-enabled zoomer has a point too, because LeetCode is pretty fucked up, yet the point is made in a way that interprets the world through a limited and adolescent perspective; we should reform, but AI is not the end-all solution.
dirtycrowto Autism@lemmy.world•At school were you on the "gifted and pleasure to teach" end or "would do well if applied self and stopped getting distracted"?English2·7 days agoThe second half. I’d get failing grades in final projects (e.g. math) because I failed to read the instructions, would complete only one side of a test because I forgot to the check the other side, would tell long stories to my teacher in class, would just not take science seriously, but studied my butt off for history (which was so much reading). I don’t think my teachers generally liked me (some didn’t at all), but that sort of changed when I moved states from red to blue and got better instruction.

Nonetheless the dangers of bare fiber optics glass contact are still dangerous which is where I draw my source of caution.
