Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•I wish the Steam Controller used AA batteriesEnglish
102·2 months agoI think it is way more inconvenient when you pick up a dead controller and fiddle around with long cables then taking the minuit to swap out AAs. Recharchable AAs are so much more convenient and as you said ensure the controller’s longevity. I am still rocking the original steam controller.

2·2 months agoProbably wanted to say “shits on”
Yeah might not be exciting but it is functional. I think we are at a point of diminishing returns in phone UI design that appeals to all audiences.

I mean he will probably change his mind again the next time he speaks to Putin or someone from The Russian administration.

Technology@beehaw.org•Fairphone 6 Teardown: Proof Phones Don’t Have to Be DisposableEnglish
12·6 months agoWhen considering new customers or those who, for example, have irreparably damaged their Fairphone, it’s important to recognize that selling a three-year-old device as new may not be appealing to them. Additionally, many people today rely on their phones as their primary computer and therefore require the performance necessary to handle a variety of tasks.

European Federalists@lemmy.world•'All of Ukraine is ours' — Putin on Russia's territorial ambitions in UkraineEnglish
4·7 months agoI mean they are laying claim to the territory. They could “cleanse” it from the “nazis” if they take it over. Kind of like how a man with a funny moustache did with a certain demographic some time ago.
Is cloning that much faster than running to the lever? Do you also keep a cloning machin always handy on you?

Opensource•Ukraine's Massive Drone Attack Was Powered by Open Source SoftwareEnglish
24·7 months agoYou mean surrender. You wish for Ukraine to surrender stolen territory. You also assume Russia would not use the time of peace to regroup rearm and reinvade.
Everyone wants peace. Putin wanted peace from the beginning but the pesky sovereign nation wanted to keep it’s sovereignty.

I think it will start out innocent at first but if a post reaches enough likes, it will open the floodgates for meme spam.
There have been quite a few comics in this style recently. For this specific comic, the background is always changing.

World News@lemmy.world•China says there are no negotiations with the US over tariffsEnglish
163·9 months agoChina has the luxury of being a totalitarian state. Xi does not need to worry about upcoming elections. Unfortunately in Europe any moves that requires great sacrifice might be political suicide.

Buy European@feddit.uk•What's the translation for "Buy European" in your language?English
2·9 months agoMaltese/🇲🇹 is incorrect, should be “Ixtri Ewropej”.
I am assuming undetectable waves. That is the enemy won’t know where the waves are being fired from or even that they are being fired at all.

Technology@lemmy.world•Bluesky has started honoring takedown requests from Turkish governmentEnglish
5·9 months agoYes but they need to obey Turkish law if they want to offer their services there. Like how US websites have to show a “cookies” disclaimer within the EU due to EU privacy laws.

World News@lemmy.world•Russian forces weaker than they claim, say Chinese POWsEnglish

Technology@lemmy.world•Bluesky has started honoring takedown requests from Turkish governmentEnglish
111·9 months agoWell as a company bluesky, would need to abide by the laws of where it is offering it’s services.
They can’t just ignore the request of the country’s government. They could either challenge it in court or stop offering their services altogether.

To convince Joe you have to say that the thing is a conspiracy theory(ex mrna vaccines) and get someone that is shunned/dismissed from a community for being a crackpot(ex: an anti vax doctor).
It makes Joe feel like he is part of an exclusive club of people who know the “real” truth.
