  • its just a casual suggestion, i am more curious about what it would look like- what it would do to promote a different behavior… while the stuff about being singled out and targeted is something i’ve experienced- if i were truly thrown off by that tactic, i’d leave, but i don’t see why this conversation must be about that and not the suggestion itself- do you think a system like that would work in the way i picture it? can you see any reason it would not work in a small testable environment? not looking for counseling, not trying to change the world to my preference, not on a crusade to punish people-- but it seems i’m easily caricatured as ‘caring too much’ or being ‘weak/soft’ in so many words.

  • by caveat i mean: there must be situations where your existence might become an existential threat to another’s - in which case it is not so simple as an absolute. we put the cart in front of the horse by relying on ideologies handed to us without scrutinizing them… speak up, yes- but that’s what your opponents are doing when they vehemently disagree with you… hedge these outcomes by knowing better the complexities that underly your claims. godspeed

  • ‘you’re right to exist in anyway you find fitting’ there must surely be some caveats here. ‘and that applies to every one american’ what about the rest of the world and other sovereign nations?

but i agree with you, yes it is very depressing and frustrating that every corner of the internet is being wrought into purity-testing echo chambers. understanding this might lead you to questions like: who benefits from this outcome?

anyway, i appreciate the work that went into this rant-- its a journey and i hope it was cathartic

for what its worth, i eat mostly downvotes and i am stronger for it. show your strength by keeping your head up and maintaining composure

  • "Comanche Lookout Park, a 96-acre oasis in the urban sprawl of the city’s Northeast Side off of Nacogdoches Road, has a peak with an elevation of 1,340 feet. Throughout history, the site has provided a location for commerce as well as a site where raids were performed on Spanish and Mexican mule trains and pioneers. "

There is also a four-story stone tower that was built in 1923. Retired Army Colonel Edward H. Coppock purchased the land that would eventually be the park in 1923 and planned to build a castle-like house, but the project was abandoned after he died in 1948, according to the city’s parks and recreation website. It’s remained there since.

so… that ‘mysterious’ was a lie.

  • incidentally (or not) this underlines a deliberate function of trump’s negotiation strategy-- to promote uncertainty which protects his position from precise scrutiny. this comes up in hypernormalisation a british docu as a deliberate part of putin’s strategy- to keep your opponents always guessing… its a form of obfuscation that we see in every day life when it comes to news media, social media, and so on- its a very common trick today and i think its as important as ever to get a handle on the material realities of the world under the cover of all this smoke.
