  • I’m a run of the mill American citizen, 4 generations back my family has been American. No birth weirdness or dual citizenship or anything. Decided to live overseas after uni to broaden my horizons, and last time I came back home for the holidays I was grilled on my americanness by customs… They almost didn’t let me in because they thought I was suspicious, and my passport didn’t seem right. They even said “how can you be American if you’re a resident of (country)?” I think I got the same line as this article too, the whole no way to prove I’m American (despite my passport being in their hands). Theres a gatekeeping mentality that I suspect is rampant in all levels of government, and I just wonder how many good people who deserve to be here are barred from a normal life in the US because of it

  • I don’t mean any offense, but if you’re saying traditional mobas are too fast paced for you, how do you expect to keep up in a moba style arena shooter? I’ve got tons of experience in both Dota and overwatch and without a doubt, overwatch is so much more taxing. As I get older, I’ve had to stray away from shooters altogether because I simply can’t operate fast enough, yet I still have no issues with the most hectic Dota teamfights. It doesn’t seem to be in the same ballpark to me

  • If anything, I don’t get why people assume Latino communities are left leaning, other than defaulting to expectation that minority=dem votes. Latinos tend to be conservative af, many are religious, still have very traditional views like wives stay in the kitchen cooking and cleaning, bootstrap mentality, anti handouts, call poor people lazy, etc. Like it’s clear as day that Latino communities are right leaning if you spend any time around them.

Then you have the anti Castro Cuban population especially that always have the “I didn’t leave a communist country just to be part of another one” response whenever leftist social policies try to get implemented in Florida, and if something ever does pass, they go around all “this is Cuba all over again!” and scare the populace

  • I’m a long term vegetarian/almost vegan, and I have to say this vegan proselytizing shit is fucking insufferable and is why everyone else hates us. If you’re the one who made the video, the way you talk to her is so condescending and smarmy I’m surprised this poor girl didn’t just leave. The points you make are also full of entitlement and are just straight up wrong at certain points. I feel bad for her being subjected to this.

Honestly, I’m glad I chose to stop eating meat without “activists” like you around me because if I were still eating meat and you tried something like this on me, I’d dig aaalll the way in on my choice to eat meat because of you. You’re doing far more harm than you realize.

  • Yeah lemme get a hit of what you’re smoking… I would argue modern games have a heavy over saturation of ridiculously colorful games. Look at the popular titles of like every major genre within the last few years and tell me that’s not the case.

Shooters- Fortnite, Valorant, Apex, The finals, Splatoon (cod being the only major shooter with a drab palette)

Car/Racing- Mario kart, Forza, rocket league, that one game everyone overlays on TikTok videos with the crazy winding tracks

Fighting- Street fighter, Tekken, MK, Smash, Guilty gear (all very colorful or at least significantly more colorful than the previous iterations)

Indies- Hades, hollow knight, cult of the lamb, pizza tower, stardew valley, undertale, subnautica, vampire survivors, ori

Pandemic hits everyone obsessed over, among us and fall guys.

Marvel snap is the biggest entry into the card game market, which has been dominated by none other than Hearthstone for a while now.

The only genre I can think of that doesn’t have an excess of color is rpg’s, with the new Zeldas, baldur’s gate 3, starfield, elden ring, last of us, etc being a bit neutral, (still not dull by any means) but even with that being said things like spider man, palworld, and cyberpunk exist.

Anyway, yeah this list got a lot longer than I planned but I think it illustrates my point.

Saddest day of my childhood was halfway through middle school when they switched from the classic red waffles you see here to these sponge “safety” dodgeballs, because the school board was afraid of kids getting injured. They were so light you couldn’t get any speed behind your throws and when they hit you if felt like nothing more than a sharp gust of wind. I’ve never been the same since

  • When playing with friends/alone? Great! Customization is never a bad thing, and it enables groups with varied skill levels to still enjoy the game. Online multiplayer? Hate it hate it hate it.

One example: a lot of fps games are cross-platform these days, and I’ve never felt good about the things they do to balance mouse vs controller. I get why they attempt it, but it feels less like “balance” and more like they’ve created two different classes of players, controller being the close quarter players and mouse being the mid/long range flick shooters.

Another is any game that adjusts comeback mechanics during the course of a match, because I’ve never understood punishing someone for playing well

  • Yup, exactly. The yellow ones will progress the conversation into the minimum necessary dialogue to complete the mission, and the others are usually just extra context. I say usually because occasionally there are clues in those sections that will let you make better decisions later on that wouldn’t have been obvious, or even open up new “yellow” options if you keep digging at them.

  • Yes, some are disguised as simple bulletin board contracts, but then others are either only slightly hinted at during dialogue or even completely unprompted, and you just have to stumble upon them and interact accordingly.

My favorite one in the game started with me strolling into a totally random, unremarkable cottage in the middle of skellige that I had no reason to go into. Then it quickly unravels into a shitstorm of local clan drama that you’re forced to deal with for a while, and ends with the most visually beautiful scenes in the game IMO. If you don’t go into that cottage, chances are you’ll never know it exists.

CDPR put an insane amount of effort into this kind of stuff to make the world feel dynamic and alive.
