How much money would one presume 5 beers would that it would cover this many beers? Even if you’re buying at a local convenience store or at your local alcohol store this would be around $50? Who walks up to a place, sees an order of what they assume is 5 beers for that price and thinks, “Yeah that’s a fair price.”

It doesn’t always need to be useful. If the businesses are bought in, the students got the tools for free or were required to use them during their uni experience, and it’s now listed as a requirement on job listings it’s suddenly a need in society. That is already happening whether we like it or not.

This is how Microsoft has always done this adoption stuff. I’m surprised this is only coming out now. Probably has been happening to the larger institutions for much longer. They get the “next generation” hooked on free product that is part of the education system and then it’s just part of what they do naturally.

I was in college when .Net was just being rolled out and we all got free licenses to Visual Studio. Also had licenses for Adobe products and pretty much any other major player. Just had to ask the right IT person how to get a disc and license key. They only worked for 4-5 years before going dormant, but some of us kept in touch with internal staff and got it for several years after that as well.

If you’re in college, don’t fall for the free taste. There’s always a catch.

It’s carsinisation but for cars. Everything evolves into a type of SUV. It makes sense since physics kind of dictates how aerodynamics works and engineers just have to work around that.

I’m looking forward to the day when we don’t have rear-view mirrors and just use cameras. Kind of surprised we haven’t just gone that direction already. Screens and camera tech has gotten good enough that we can do that pretty efficiently.

The issue I have with some of the more “modern” cars is getting rid of the door handles on the outside. These pop-out things are just a hazard for people in colder climates or places where dust and other ingress can cause problems opening the door. Although, it would be nice to have my kids walk up to the door and not jerk on the handle 2-3 times before I can get the keys out to unlock it.

We have had these around our farm properties for a while for the same reasons. You can make them out of mesh wire and some 2X4 pieces of wood. Don’t look as fancy as this but with the right bait (horse/cow dung and some meat scraps) you can get the same amount of flies. Really helps the animals and humans when the horseflies start swarming.

Never… NEVER work and personal with the same account. It’s a pain to have separate accounts, but this makes it so much more worth it. If they got mad at the personal account, that’s losing photos and other connection pieces but the work account (DEV account) still can make money. If it’s the DEV account, your personal still works and you don’t lose all of the personal connections but hopefully you’re working under an LLC or other entity that has the ability to have some legal push back when needed. Not always, but sometimes, businesses don’t want to mess with other businesses but they’ll punch “Steve” in the mouth.

None of the clues made any sense to me. I’m not sure if it’s my sinus infection or the clues were just that weird.

Okay… so this is a thing places do. Good to know. I thought the crazy farmer at the maize maze locally had lost his last kernel with just a box full of this stuff for the kids to basically swim in.
