They’d all be dead without it.

Neither is animal genocide imo
Who is talking about animal genocide?
They are fully domesticated so if you stop farming them they all need to be killed / will die.
Sheep can, and routinely do, go feral.
Is it really a bad thing to stop abusing animals even if it means the species dies out except for their wild counterparts?
It’s up to you if you’re okay with genocide
