Might be a local thing, but in the US I feel like all the similar radio stations go on commercial break all at the same time. Is this just an iheartradio monopoly thing or is it some odd coincidence due to standard ad deals?

In the future I think the TD-H3 is a great recommendation for beginners. I’ve been thinking about getting one. It can be reset and out into ham, GMRS, or an unlocked mode. (When ham vs. unlocked appears to mean ham only transmitting on amateur frequencies.) Programming by Bluetooth and a normal USB-C port (also works with the traditional Kenwood serial USB cables lol). Can pick up on a ton of bands in comparison.
Still very cheap, ~$35 on Amazon. Much more feature rich!
Also curious if you have any thoughts on this radio or other relatively cheap handhelds.
