      People were more inclined to buy software when it was a one time purchase rather than a license subscription (for example Adobe).

        Stealing potential profits is no where near as fun as stealing actual profits

      Good question. Probably not. Still wouldn’t be stealing, as there’s not a limited supply. For that matter, how could we call anything “ownership” if the supply isn’t limited? Do you own the air you breathe or the sunrays hitting your face computer screen?
