I think it’s valid to pre-order or buy Early Access, if you want to support the developer and like what they do in general. Not every developer would survive if their game will only be bought once on 90% sale caused by their bankruptcy 🌚
I mean indie games, yes, I also don’t think content is a must, especially if you know a developer has had a steady progress in the past. But it seems to be an unpopular opinion, I see
Well, nobody can judge you for donating money when you can afford to, but also not everybody can afford to. Pre-ordering before you can play the full game is basically donating money with hope to maybe get something out of it in the future. I don’t really have the luxury to do that, personally.
I mean, of course it must be your good will and only if you can afford it. Donating the shirt off your back does not usually do good in the real world.

If it’s early access of an indie game that already has enough content to be worth it, sure. Like Hades 2 or Slay the Spire 2.
