I love my Dactyl Manuform - Been using it for a few years now and loved every moment of it.
Been planning to print+build a second one with the trackball built-in, but I can’t find a generator that includes all the options I want, and I have yet to take the time to comprehend openscad. I have bought the parts I would need for it though, so I can eventually make it happen.
And then made my own changes from there. It’s worth noting that the Dactyl Manuform is designed to be built for your own hand measurements, so you may want to avoid just using one that someone else created (like CMD’s).

This looks really cool. Are there any guides that you found helpful?
I leaned heavily on this build guide for references: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxNKWNKBLMs

Five columns eh. What do your thumb keys do? Are you using home row mods?
My left thumb keys are
[Super], [Space] [layer 2], [Alt] [end], [home]
and right are
[backspace], [enter] [Alt], [Ctrl] [pgup], [pgdn]
Not sure what you mean by home row mods tho
