The New York City Department of Education last week began sending letters notifying the hundreds of thousands of additional current and former students that they were victims of the cyber attack in…

The DOE said it is offering the impacted students — some of whom even graduated from the system several years before the security breach occurred — two years of free credit and identity-monitoring services through vendor IDX to help protect against identity theft.

So they are offering nothing. Absolutely nothing. In two years will this stolen data cease to exist? No. This data can never be unshared, these people can never achieve privacy.

But no penalties, no punishment, no prison. That’s just for when the poors are negligent or commit crimes. We are just data-cattle. Accept your data-milking and get back to work.

If you want to do something about it, please present your case to the courts. My brother, neighbor, and former college roommate are the judges. Good luck.

Now watch this ad, we know people of your ethnicity with your academic record we acquired like these sort of things.

But but China bad cus Tik Tok steals your info…

Meanwhile your data has been stolen from literally every service you use.

Use email? Every service offering it like Yahoo and Gmail have been hacked and your data stolen.

Equifax? Hacked and all your data stolen.

Visited a Hospital? Your data was sold by the hospital.

American companies cannot be trusted with your data.

lol there you are again shoehorning completely irrelevant comments about China into threads that have nothing to do with it.

You could at least pretend to be a real person.

Why limit to American? No company, worldwide, is held to a standard that results in consequences for data breaches.

No citizen of any country, worldwide, has a way to reset immutable data about themselves when it is stolen.

Your reply comes across as overly focused on the United States. The things you say are correct, and similarly correct about most countries.

In short, you are missing the point.

In regards to “China bad”. China is an an odd example to pick as CEOs of companies have disappeared for months or years at a time, muslims are currently being eliminated in a cultural genocide, and a citizen has zero rights when they stand up against the government. Even Chinese citizens abroad can be targeted for harassment or assassination.

They can’t even openly discuss what happened in 1989.

At least I can say, “Fuck USA” all day long. Standing outside the White House if I wanted… and the worst that will happen to me is I’ll be asked to leave.

Are you Chinese? Have you lived in Cina? Or do you just repeat western propaganda without actually doing any research yourself?

One isn’t required to live somewhere to stay updated on events. I will humor you a bit though. Think of this comment as an experiment. The western propaganda says that it can be dangerous to express certain ideas as a Chinese citizen. Maybe I am wrong. So as a scientist, I will now test that. Maybe it is a lie.

I am confident in my safety after expressing anything I like.

            So let’s see…
            Fuck Joe Biden.
            Fuck Donald Trump.
            Fuck the Kent State Massacre.
Fuck the corporate corrupted US government.
            your turn.

What are your thoughts on the year 1989 and the events that took place in Tiananmen Square? Please elaborate and be as critical as you like.

Sadly a tankie will always deflect, distract and deny, they never actually address any real points. I admire your patience though, and your posts were well written!

The only things you know about China is what the media feeds you. So in china’s case, yes you need to live there to know what it’s actually like. The majority of Chinese people are very happy living in China. Most Americans ages 18-35 don’t even want to live in America anymore.

You dodged the challenge though! It seems that even propagandists aren’t allowed to acknowledge the tiananmen square massacre, no matter if it owns those pesky “neo lib nazis”??

                Very sad.

That is true, the United States is a shit show. I won’t defend it. I want to burn it down and elect a generation of young leaders.

For me, a society should not be judged by how it treats its average citizens, but its lowest citizens. In the United States that is black people, prisoners, muslims, poor people, transgender people, gay people. These conversations are all public and extremely active in the news as well as in general discourse among young people and in universities. Many politicians and activists groups are attempting to bring about change in these areas.

Who are the lowest citizens in China? How are they treated? How often are they talked about? Who is attempting to bring about change in regards to them?

If conflating multiple ideas together is all you can do, this conversation is boring. I am talking about multiple things, yet you only reply with critique of others. Why do you not share critique of your self and your home? Are you telling me that everything is perfect? That’s astonishing if so.

And in previous comments you have disregarded my experiment. You can prove my perception of China to be incorrect by participating in my activity.

Finally, is not everything you say about me and my perception of China not also true of someone in China viewing the western world? I am curious how the two situations are different from your perspective.

I love being wrong, when I am wrong I learn things. But I am a scientist. I will always make someone put in at least some work to show me I am wrong. I hold them to the same standard I hold myself, and that is a high standard.
