Yes but a lot of people who think they stand for something instead fell for anything.

The human brain loves wordplay that doesn’t really mean anything.

I agree. This sounds cool but doesn’t mean anything, nor is it true

    What?

That sounds like “dig in, your first opinion was right” but all verbally prettied up.

Opinions/Views are not something you stand for and hold on to recklessly. Like scientific consensus, you should discard them like meaningless scraps of paper whenever you find a better one to carry about.

Now, fighting for good things in the world is definitely a thing that needs doing, but if it turns out you’ve been pushing the wrong side of an issue you should stop the very second you realize that.

I interpret it slightly differently: having a wrong opinion is better than having no opinion, because you can change your mind. Still not sure how much I agree, but it’s at least debatable

You stand too much for something, you’ll swallow anything, too.

If you don’t know anything, you have to believe everything.

The people I know who don’t really know anything (uneducated) actually don’t believe most factual things. They invent their own explanations about things, based on their ignorance, and then reject factual information since it would require them to acknowledge that their invented understanding is inaccurate.

Most folks who say this don’t realize which side they fall on.

Has always been one of my least favorite quotes. For reasons already stated by others here.

If we don’t take action now

    We’ll settle for nothing later

    We’ll settle for nothing now

And we’ll settle for nothing later
