You’re making me miss Phil Hartman again. Every time I see a picture of Zap I momentarily forget that it’s not him.
If it helps, Billy West did Zapp’s voice, but Phil Hartman was originally going to do the role. West did try to match Hartman’s tone for it, though, in a bit of an homage.
Yeah, I knew that Groening designed the character for Phil. That’s why I keep having to remind myself it had to go to someone else because Phil died right before production began. :'(
Also a reminder that Chris Farley had recorded much of the Shrek script before he passed and was then replaced by his friend and comrade Mike Myers.

First of all, love this post! Second, what the hell is up with Lemmy that I’m only now seeing this? I’m set to “Hot,” but this has been gaining more traction than posts older than this and mine from about the same time. Ever since the lemmy.world update, things have been a bit fucky with regards to visibility.
