FFS, not this bullshit again… Hopefully fan pressure can fight it off just like last time.

I spend a lot of money going to games in-person here for MLS and occasionally in Europe when I’m over there. I will never pay to go to another country’s league games outside their country. It’s just wrong.

I paid to go to a Colts-Jags game in London once. The vacation was fun, but the game sucked. And nothing says “money-grabbing, fun-hating, fan-hating, player-killing, evil machine” like NFL. These games are hard on the players, give more money to the owners and not to the players, cost more money for fans to see, and ruins the home gameday experience.

Agreed 100%. I love NFL, and although it’s tempting to go to the Wembley games, I disagree with them on principle. Although, given that I live 400 miles north, it’s not that hard to resist!)

Holy shit, it’s almost unbelievable what lengths some people will go to earn a little bit more money.

Because that’s what ultimately the goal is, right? To attract more American viewers and therefore earn more money from the broadcasts. This sounds just as stupid as the ‘Beneliga’ competition, which was supposed to merge the Dutch and Belgium football competitions.

Yeesh. Hadn’t heard of that one, but here in Scotland we occasionally hear some nonsense about a “North Atlantic League” or whatever, with teams from Scotland (guess which two…), Norway, Netherlands, Belgium. Utter hogwash, but doesn’t stop the speculation.
