Probably more effective to give to a food pantry to avoid the corporate profit cut, but the thought is very nice.

Many restaurants let people pay when they pick up or get the food delivered. So doing this costs the restaurant money, not OP. That’s why he’s spoofing his info too, if he paid they probably wouldn’t care enough to ban the number.

I am not quite sure what the joke is about, could you explain? Those helmets seem to be used for preventing injuries in case of health conditions like epilepsy, but I can’t make a connection at all

They’re saying OP is slow and the helmet is there to prevent them from hurting themselves in the future.

OP isn’t paying for the order, they’re ordering over the phone for local pickup, which means they’d pay when they arrive. And OP isn’t going to the store for pickup…

Yeeah, so, don’t most restaurants just throw out the uneaten food nowadays, out of concern for getting sued over hygiene issues?

It’s a theft thing. Middle managers are concerned about employees purposely making accidents so that they may then eat. It’s all about that money honey

I work for a pizza place and routinely take home orders that didn’t get picked up, maybe fancier restaurants just throw their stuff out. We also give those orders to people experiencing homelessnness if they stop in around closing time.

They have that policy, but most shift managers aren’t assholes and don’t care. Also, I know a lot of places around where I live donate the excess food to shelters.

Who do you think throws it out? It’s not the manager, but probably one of the regular employees. They can just as easily “throw” it in their car instead…

and it has to be prepaid, or the delivery driver pays it out of their pocket. I don’t understand how OP’s thing works, most likely fake and gay

The restaurants I order from don’t require prepay. You can pay online or when you pickup your order.

Ok still whoever will pick it up has to pay. All the delivery apps I know have this policy: either it’s prepaid by the customer’s bank card, or I the driver, have to pay cash out of my pockey then the customer will pay me the bill upon delivery + delivery fee.

So maybe OP means that this restaurent gives their own employees and their own delivery drivers the orders which no one came to pick up?

There’s no delivery, this is local pickup…

OP is just… not picking up their order, therefore nobody pays.

I’m familiar with every large “delivery app” service, and none involve a situation where the driver fronts their personal money. That’s ridiculous. The app service gives the driver a credit card for situations where in-person payment is required.

I still have -60$ balance in one app from not picking up the order

You could say they banned me with 60 dollars to unban but I just use competition

This just means the chefs / wait staff had to work a little harder for nothing. They’re making the food and obviously not getting a tip.

The employee is still paid for producing the cooked food. The restaurant itself is not paid.

Also fuck tipping and pay people livable wages.

Robbed the kitchen of a couple minutes, robbed the host of a couple minutes, robbed the company of a couple bucks worth of food. Essentially victimless. The restaurants I worked at offered unclaimed food to staff for half price or free. Not a huge deal, essentially harmless. Half hour before close usually isn’t an inconveniently busy time.

Didn’t rob the kitchen a couple minutes. They did their job. And in this case, they may get to take home extra food that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. They literally get paid extra at the resteraunts dime

I’m just saying that isn’t coming out of the pockets of the “corporate restaurant”. A lot of stuff gets thrown away anyway. The real people who are “paying for” the free food are restaurant workers who want to clean up and go home.

It doesn’t seem unreasonable to me that someone dislikes their ex-wife. It’s implied with the term “ex” that there was something wrong with the relationship that couldn’t be salvaged. Must everything be seen through the lens of misogyny?
