This is awesome! I also use Inter Variable on KDE Plasma and it just looks more modern.
It is a bit bold compared to Noto Sans, but Noto Sans is such a boring Font you basically forget it exists.
Honestly I kind of hate this font, I’m definitely going to change it if it becomes the default. It looks too much like Arial and I think both are horrible, especially for UIs
Good for them, it seems like it will make it easier as Inter is better supported and more maintained. I use SF-Pro though, so this won’t directly affect me.
I’ve used Inter as my UI font for years so I guess that’s one fewer package I need to download if this change lands
