I used to get frustrated that my mother would accidentally call me by either of my brothers’ names. Then I found myself doing so with my own cats and I forgave her.

Biden has always been a gaffe machine. And hell, even Obama tripped up a few times with things like ‘57 states’.

The issue, for me, is not the individual incidents, though. It’s that people who interact with him, in particular, Congresscritters in his party, publicly speaking out that makes me uneasy about continuing with Biden on the ticket. There is a lack of confidence in his ability going forward; they’re better placed to know, and have fewer (not none, but fewer) reasons to lie about it than simple gossipers.

For me, im looking at what gaffes is he making as president. Hes been diplomatically correct, even though hes on the wrong side of gaza imo.

If hes making such horrible decisions as president or cant remember his own name, why arent we hearing calls for 25th amendment?

This is honestly the stupidest media frenzy I’ve seen in a long time. They were talking about Putin. He went back to the mic and corrected himself: “He’s fighting to beat Putin, President Zelenskyy!” and Zelenskyy rolled with it.

This is literally top news on all serious news sites. 🙄There’s no mention of what Zelenskyy said afterward or anything else. It’s even more idiotic than the “Dean Scream”.

These news outlets are literally just click bait now, and they want anything to be a scandal no matter how small.

I honestly wouldn’t care if he wasn’t applying for what is arguably the most important job in the world and I think the “still better than Trump” argument is just setting an extremely low bar.

I don’t think knowing the difference between Zelensky and Putin is a big ask.

I think that the POTUS should be extremely competent given how serious the job role is, I actually don’t think that should be a controversial, let alone delusional point of view.

The irony of people like you calling me delusional whilst you pretend Biden is up to the job leaves me lost for words.

Biden’s cognitive capacity is clearly in decline and if he manages to win he’ll be 85 when he leaves office. Tell me one other person with a job role as serious as his that’s served by someone like that.

Yes, I know Trump would be a disaster, that’s exactly why it’s so important that the democrats put forward the best possible candidate they can and if that’s Biden, I think we should all be very worried.

I put it to you that you’re going to sleep walk in another Trump presidency. Are you going to act surprised or admit that people didn’t want a senile president?

The options are trying to do something about it now, or waiting four years whilst Trump is inflicted upon the world.

I think that pretending there is no other option and having to hold your nose while voting for Biden is very weak.

Many have said, “I’d vote for a dog/potato/cadaver over Trump”, so if that’s true, it actually doesn’t matter who you pick in place of Biden. So let’s pick literally anyone who doesn’t look like they’ve stayed up too late at the old people’s home.

Trump being a raving lunatic doesn’t make it OK to not find a candidate that doesn’t belong in a care home.

I have real concerns about Biden’s competency (though don’t get me wrong; I’m voting for whomever the “not Trump” option is), but I have swapped names (or nouns in general) in sentences more times that I care to think about; my mind and mouth aren’t always working at the same speed and it happens sometimes.

Sheesh. You know none of this would be a big deal in isolation, but there is so much pressure on him right now to be perfect after the debate. I don’t really care whether he stays or goes except insofar as it makes it easier or harder to take on Trump, but ordinary human mistakes have taken on a new importance and the more he makes the more the pressure will mount.

Sorry to hear that your mother doesn’t respect her own child enough to make an effort to remember their birthday (calendars have existed for a good long while now). And I fail to see how that excuses a political caste disrespecting its voters by offering a geriatric buffoon and a senile grandpa as the only viable candidates in the election for the highest office in the land.
