It only supports Bitcoin? Really absurd choice. The demographic of people using Proton services, using cryptocurrency, and only holding Bitcoin has to be pretty damn small…

It’s it absurd to support the largest crypto as the first choice?

Better to release it with one and expand upon it later.

If you’re going to support one, support Monero, and allow paying for service with it. Then expand to Bitcoin, which is one of the easiest ways to buy Monero if your country is anti-Monero for some reason.

Why Bitcoin? Monero makes more sense.

It makes more sense to not spread even thinner chasing AI grifting and cryptobro services when your existing services have been lacking basic functionality for years

When basic and highly requested features go untouched for years on end on every single product they have and new ones they launch, and Proton decides to keep expanding the portfolio without seemingly expanding the work force, then yes, one thing does prevent the other from happening.
