    AMD’s 600 series desktop CPUs have become a bad deal that are struggling to compete with offerings from intel from a similar price bracket. AMD needs to bump this SKU to 8 cores. Paying $200+ for a 6 core CPU in 2024 is not a good deal.

      Not everyone really needs more cores. Not comparing the two, just saying that cores are not everything. i.e. CPU can be more valuable when providing higher IPC and/or less power consumption.

        That’s definitely true. But in a more competitive market you would expect SKU prices for a 6 core SKU (albeit with solid ST performance) to go down in an environment where overall core count expectations are rising for this segment.

        The old saying “there are no bad products, just badly priced products” comes to mind
