Slapping palms as a form of greeting a friend and then holding their hand as you pull your fingers back until it makes a snapping sound.

    Thank you, Urban Dictionary!

They must stop, okay? I’m getting older, I don’t want to learn new English words anymore.

I wish they’d put a cover over the locomotive. I hate seeing locos on static display just left to rot in the elements instead of being given the care they deserve.

I’m fairly certain I know this particular train and it’s very well taken care of as a vital part of a playground. Kids play all over it, and I believe it’s covered in weather-resistant coating.

      ‘S a cool park.

Edit: here’s a link to the official park website; wanted to make sure I wasn’t telling tales Corvallis’s Avery Park

Well, I’m glad to hear it’s taken care of! Wish more places cared as much.

That looks like a Janney type coupler, a semi automatic train coupler.

Exactly which of the types of Janney coupler it is I can’t say.

The USSR/Russia uses a similar design called the SA3 coupler.

Tye SA3 coupler is in use by the Swedish iron company LKAB where they pull massive trains with among the world’s most powerful locomotives, currently the Iore, but in the past the Dm3.

This has been your semi related train fact comment of the day.
