When I first saw this community I though it was related to Facebook and completely ignored it. Did anyone else do the same, and is there a way to make it more clear to new users and or is there currently something in place that I just completely missed that points it out?

Yeah it can get a bit confusing due how how companies choose names. Unfortunately facebook picked a relatively common word in online communities to name their company

Theres a description on the right if youre on web that talks about the community but the name might need to include something about the instance name in it

I had actually capitalized the community name and then realized it looked just like facebook. that’s why I went with the lowercase name. If I need to change something about the display name I can. Any suggestions?

One idea could simply be to just add the not Facebook at the end something like “Meta(Not Facebook)” although I’m sure someone creative could come up with something better. With that said eventually whatever name ends up sticking, I’m sure will become the norm and people will just get used to it, although its probably best to nip this in the butt before it becomes an issues where the existing users see things one way and new users see another.

It was clear to me but I have used StackExchange a lot where each site has a Meta board for Q&A about that site itself.
