That’s because doing so would inhibit the foothold the Republican agenda has in store for the American populace.
More directly (specifically?) it just creates another media narrative to rile up Republican voters who will not give a single shit that Republican lawmakers very deliberately caused the problem… because they just won’t mention that part.
Their strategy seems to be to inflict as much suffering as possible and then point at (insert scapegoat here) and say “they did it.”

he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them
But…if the Speaker of the House doesn’t feel like doing anything, he can make it really difficult to pass anything.
