That frog was the only thing that kept me going some days. Like… yeah, the rain is pretty nice, ain’t it, lil guy?

“It was a tough decision, because as a character, you see basically half the population loves him, and half the population has a different feeling of him. And we didn’t want to only cater to one side.”

So…you catered to only one side…the wrong one.

Why not just include a Froggy toggle?

It’s the little things Google. You keep forgetting that in the pursuit of more corporate bullshit.

Froggy is not necessary, that’s not the point. Froggy gives the app something just a little bit special. There are a ton of weather apps to pick from, it’s the little things that make people pick one over the other.

Recently I stumbled upon a weather app that provides what I need:

    • Displays current temperature in the status bar AND updates it (other apps I tried would not update it unless I manually opened the app)
    • Offers a widget that I can actually resize to fit the right spot on my home screen.
    • Actually updates the widget without me having to manually refresh it.
    • Displays the weather in my notifications list
    • Lets me turn off any features I don’t need.
    • Lets me customize what information is displayed in what order.
    • Let’s me pick the weather data source
    • No ads
    • Free

As a bonus, it has a beautiful visual design

It’s called Weawow, and I found it on the play store after trying several other weather apps over the past few months.

Now I just glance at my phone and have the info I need.

I was so excited to suggest Weawow because it matches every one of your requirements. I really like being able to choose from all the different widgets with slightly different info depending on what you’re most interested in.

Very nice. Apparently the donation model is working for them. I’m going to support them myself after giving it a bit more time, but I’m already impressed.

The about page is a roller coaster ride:

Weawow is not a team. It’s a solo project. Since I founded Weawow in 2016, I have been doing almost all the tasks by myself,

I am 50 years old and have recently noticed a decline in my physical strength, including a sudden decline in my eyesight. Any donations towards hiring a staff member would be a great help to the Weawow project.

I will report on any progress here. That was a bit of a pessimistic story, but I’m doing very well and there are no problems with the Weawow project. So please don’t worry.

My dream is for the Weawow project to continue for another 200 years, until we reach Type 1 on the Kardashev scale. Because at the current level of human civilization, it is not possible to make 100% accurate weather forecasts, I believe that it is necessary to compare and consider many data sources.

But in 200 years there will be no more weather FORECASTS services, but 100% accurate weather PLANNING services.

I hope this guy gets his wishes.
