Danish lawmakers have agreed on a deal to plant 1 billion trees and convert 10% of farmland into forest and natural habitats in an effort to reduce fertilizer usage over the next two decades.
The kingdom is 2.210.403km2, it’s huge, 12th largest state in the world, larger than Saudi Arabia or Mexico. Most of it is Greenland though and it’s going to be difficult planting forests on glaciers so I think they mean metropolitan Denmark.
The current forests in Denmark are 15% of the land and also about one billion trees in total.
Adding another billion trees on 10% is probably possible.
