If anyone’s in Moonee Ponds, Luke’s for banh mi. Friend and I unanimously agreed it was probably the best we’ve had. I would totally travel down that way for it again! And they have mock meat ones too.

I used to live opposite the one in Reservoir and it got me through lockdown. They’re opening a new location opposite Melbourne Central soon. Can’t wait to be able to grab it for lunch regularly again.

Full disclaimer: the line is about as long as the line to the jam donut stall at the queen Vic markets on free donut day. Seriously, I walk past it fairly often and the line is almost always like 40 people and stretches half way down the block

Can recommend the cafe a few mins down the road, six points though, I love their bloody Mary eggs Benny. They mix a little bit of siracha into the hollandaise and it’s surprisingly good

Ending up stripping down to just undies for the vacuuming, so hot!

Got pizza for dinner though, with plenty of leftovers for the next few nights.

    Place is looking gooooooood

Time for a big fat glass of ice water and a cold shower. Then tomorrow, I tackle the balcony and bathroom.

Update: I ate the pate. I ate the pate before I posed the question in fact. Tomorrow, I will let you know if it was a good idea or not.

I also ate some cottage cheese that was opened more than 5 days ago and some tasty cheese that tasted not quite right (I tossed that) so eeny meeny miny moe.

I wish I wasn’t always tired and stressed out. I wish it was easier to get stuff I need and get things done independently.

Life sucks to the point of meaninglessness sometimes but I want to take great care of Melbcat and grow heaps of healthy food for people that can eat it.

I’m of the belief humans are as intelligent as they are because we’re meant to be protectors and guardians of this planet, of all flora and fauna.

That’s life’s meaning for me, it shouldn’t matter if there’s something more after we die, as long as we do our utmost to take care of animals and plants. I think you are meaningful, because you’re trying to grow food, and looking after Melbcat.

It must be results day - I passed the assignment I half-arsed. One more half-arsed assignment to go and I can see the back of this subject for good, yay! The other subject is much better, the next assignment I get to spend time counting birds in my backyard.

Girl I work with: “I got suspended for two weeks because I shared my discount card with my friends,”

Me: “How many people are we talking?”

    Her: “Oh, more than 10.”

Question: Would you eat pate that is one week (use by) out of date?

CAUTION: DO NOT mansplain the difference between use by and best before or I will be forced to severely downvote you.

Absolutely loving the assignment result theme today, so chuffed to see highly deserving people being rewarded for their hard work :D

Nearly everyone was on leave today and there’s a huge pile of due-todays and overdues, AND I got lobbed a site inspection from someone who decided to work tomorrow instead of today last minute. Proud that I got through a pretty good chunk of it without panicking. It helped that the only other person in today is very chill and calm. Though they were besieged by tech issues.

About to return home to The Furnace and wfh a bit more so everything is done and ready to be checked tomorrow am. Grateful to past self for getting pizza on special for an easy meal tonight

E: annoyed however that psych practice didn’t tell me the 2nd referral hadn’t come through despite my doing days in advance. And they said it wasn’t their responsibility, well whose is it because I don’t have a spare $200 out of pocket to casually afford like that. Also, it looks like our bins have not been collected. Possibly because there’s a parking spot right out front. I suspect they haven’t been collected for weeks, which explains why they’re overflowing. I’m gonna have to ring the council to ask about another collection. Sigh

Got my uni results today and my average is bang on to get into the really expensive version of a course needed to progress further in a specific career. I won’t be doing that course, but it’s nice to know that if I want to pay $40,000 for a year’s worth of study, I have the grades for it.

Since I’m recovering from yesterday, today was the sort of day where you action the most urgent new requests then check if Nier Automata mods are working.

I’ve got some long term background stuff I’ll work twice as hard on tomorrow

Still logged on the work laptop (working from home of course). Manager thinks I’m working hard but in reality it’s the coolest part of the house with two AC vents nearby.

Can’t wait to have the wisdom teeth taken out. One of the stupid idiots decided to grow dead sideways. Not slightly sideways, almost a straight horizontal angle directly into the next tooth. Usually it’s okay, but every now and again evidently I do something it doesn’t like and then it really hurts. Today was one of those days

For some reason, whenever I have any tooth pain, my immediate, subconscious, dare I say instinctual response is to grind that tooth. No clue why. It makes the pain much worse, but it helps for about half a second I guess

You don’t need to pay for it, do you? Even with private insurance, I was out of pocket several hundred dollars when I had mine out, and that was a decade ago.

This happened to my older brother, but not a wisdom tooth. We were told then that sideways teeth were more common than you’d think. Makes you wonder how people coped before proper dentistry. Feel for ya.

Wow! I knew impacted wisdom teeth were common, but had no clue regular teeth were prone to doing summersaults too
