Good, European security should be European business only.

They’re going to try and take parts of Europe.

What effectively remains of NATO needs to make weapons now. Canada and Europe.

Map of US Military Bases around the world:

Pretty much every country except France has operated as a satrap of the US since the end of WW2. NATO is the tool by which the US militarily administers the region. You’re not going to see it divorce itself from the US because it is a creature of US foreign policy. Might as well have asked the Warsaw Pact to align against Russia.

That’s before you get into the contradictions within the EU members themselves, which appear to be tearing the economic union apart from within. Brexit is only the beginning.

For what its worth, they can get those 500 billion Dollars worth of rare earths if Zelensky can have a nice evening walk on Crimea’s beaches again… ;)

Look East through the sights of a bloody big gun ready to pull the trigger when that fascistoid cleptocrat in Moscow makes a wrong move? Not a bad idea IMO.

      No thanks.

Instead of looking for the next big daddy to get exploited by, let’s sort out our stuff ourselves.

Being strategically independent does not contradict economic, scientific and cultural exchange. On the contrary it makes it more easy to engage in these fields without fearing the relation to get lopsided.

It is a very long way for Europe to become underdeveloped in comparison to those illusionary giants in the East, so that’s a risk I’m more than willing to take.
