I recently switched to FUTO keyboard, which works great.
Yes, it has the undo/redo. And also dedicated ‘mark all’, ‘copy’, ‘cut’, ‘paste’ as well as shortcuts built into the letters (hold c for copy, v for paste, etc.). Arrow keys as well! Also some other features, and swipe typing.
Only downside is that the swiping is not as acurate as gboard, but it well worth it, in terms of privacy and choosing/supporting an independent alternative.
I can never use another keyboard after discovering the hold to copy and stuff, it’s so natural, and I’m so glad that I’m stuck on a FOSS keyboard that’s owned by a company I respect.
The swipe database is not trained to the same extent as gboard. You can contribute swipe typing data at https://swipe.futo.org/ to help prove it for futo users.
WHAT! I never would have found this myself.
Interesting im using it now and the swiping certainly isn’t as good but the text entry seems OK. I’ll play around with this for about a week.
In the past it has been pretty hard to beat GBoard, as much as I have issues with it GBoard is the best keyboard on the market - for me.
Edit: I really liked the ability to add a gif directly from the keyboard. Not sure you can do that with this keyboard 🤔
Yeah, thats also a feature I miss. I mean, FUTO is good, but gboard is better in many ways. Having a billion dollar company probably helps, in that regard.
