It does have the same kind of feeling that the recycle symbols on plastic does. Like a distraction from the real problems or at least the source of them.
Isn’t that the point of superheroes, i.e. wish-fulfilment fantasies about there being one powerful and good being who could solve our very real problems?

Captain Planet’s enemies are now running the world and openly dismantling environmental protections like it’s a matter of pride to them. And half the people that grew up watching Captain Planet voted them in.
