Daniel Stenberg is done with this shit.

That’s it. I’ve had it. I’m putting my foot down on this craziness.

  1. Every reporter submitting security reports on #Hackerone for #curl now needs to answer this question:

“Did you use an AI to find the problem or generate this submission?”

(and if they do select it, they can expect a stream of proof of actual intelligence follow-up questions)

  1. We now ban every reporter INSTANTLY who submits reports we deem AI slop. A threshold has been reached. We are effectively being DDoSed. If we could, we would charge them for this waste of our time.

We still have not seen a single valid security report done with AI help.

So annoying. I work in IT and deal with this bullshit. But ChatGPT said… No ChatGPT spewed nonsensical words into your brain you dunce.

Given that an AI isn’t a person who can actually consider if there is a potential issue or not…Naturally, it could never create a useful security report. Its just a hallucination engine that has been trained on data, most of which they probably stole and laundered.

No, it’s not famous last words. I should be more specific, as of now, AI in it’s current state or the next many years could never generate a valid security report. As AI isn’t intelligent in the slightest, it just spews shit that sounds sensible based on what data it was fed. However, if AI is properly developed by multiple disciplines to truly mimic the mind of sentient beings, possessing an ability to learn and rationally weigh questions posed to it by people…It will then. For now, techbros are peddling an inferior product that is currently a mere hallucination engine that might perform decently at non-critical tasks (but consumes far too much power and water for cooling for my comfort). Scientists don’t even properly understand consciousness or the human brain yet. Investing into this work will probably get humanity closer to AI; This slop that the techbros are peddling to make a quick buck and leave others broke when the rug is pulled from underneath their feet, is not it!
