Spiritfarer. Got it on sale for $5 a while ago and it’s surprisingly touching and addictive. I even cried at one point.
I need to play it still, I have it in my library from some bundle, but there’s always been something more pressing that I wanted to play. It doesn’t look like the kind of game I normally would enjoy, but I’ve heard so many good things about it that I know I need to try it sooner or later.
I went into it totally blind and really fell in love. I definitely recommend trying it out when you want to feel some feels.
I just finished Lies of P including the DLC, runs beautifully on the Steam Deck and it’s such a banger!
Spelunky 2 with all kinds of mods
Dishonored runs quite well. I’m also playing God Hand with a PS2 emulator. What a ridiculous game.
Midnight Fight Express
I bought a handful of cheap / deep discount games during the Summer Sale this year.
One I wasn’t sure about was BIOTA. Turns out it’s been more fun than I expected for such a simplistic game.
I’ve also been playing Blasphemous. I really like Metroidvanias but these “souls like” style games are irritating to me. Still, it was cheap and I can appreciate the aesthetic.
I’m looking forward to having more time to play these games, as of yet, it’s been like 20 minutes here, 30 minutes a few days later, so it’s hard to make much progress and enjoy them with such limited time to dive in.
kitsune tails <3
Rogue Trader, it’s quite a new game, but it has a Steam Deck mode and runs quite reasonably for a turn based combat game, really enjoying it.
I installed it and started creating a character. That is as far as I have gotten.
The loading screens tho 😭
There is a bug in that it will only load a limited amount of assets per frame. If you reduce fps, then loading will be artificially limited in speed. Look for a mod that fixes this.
I’ve been abducted By Frostpunk (on the deck), but now I’m finally getting out of it and enjoying some Wolfenstein (on ps5).
How are you feeling with frostpunk? I felt like everything was too small and the trackpad controls were not very comfortable compared to my imagined use of a mouse?
Well to be honest I only played with the Deck hooked to an external screen.
I forgot to mention it😇
Final Fantasy Tactics is pretty much all I have been playing on mine. I have been trying to get other emulators running so I can play the FFT from PSP and GBA, but so far no luck.
I did get a Bluetooth keyboard with track pad today, hopefully that makes installing stuff in desktop easier.
I have been playing Bitcraft on my MacBook, I am hoping with the keyboard I can play it on the Steam deck too.
Installing Retro deck was super straight forward for me and “just worked” with 90% of my games
Not sure if I tried that one, I have been playing via retro arch.
Bitcraft looks really interesting. I’m tempted to give it a whirl on my MacBook, too.
They added experimental WASD controls yesterday.
The controls are point and click, no wasd or auto run yet. Other than that I am enjoying it. Keep in mind it is a crafting game with a little bit of combat.
Glass Masquerade 3: Honeylines.
Haven’t been touching my Steam profile a lot recently for games, but I’ve at least been doing some Gemcraft Frostborn Shadows.
Other than that, I actually got back into Sonic Lost Worlds on 3DS. As much as I hate the special stages, one single stage on an unmodded PC version of the game made me realize that movement sucks a little less on the 3DS version.
In other words, I don’t endorse getting the Steam version of you have a 3DS unless you wanna mod it to make the movements less jank. Definitely not a good Sonic game, regardless of device, because of the movement like turning being atrocious.
Darksiders Genesis, Salt and Sanctuary. With my child Spyro.
Got V Rising on sale. Works good on the deck.
Beyond Good and Evil (the original, not the remastered version) struggling with the camera and the FOV but enjoying it anyway.
