    For-profit entities backtrack on something that won’t make a profit?! Oh my god my world has been turned upside down.

        Yep. Looks like they intend on extorting the government for cooperation. I think the government should threaten them with harsher regulations if they don’t play ball. … and then ACTUALLY implement harsh regulations when they of course continue as usual.

          Nah, fuck regulations… Nationalize or conpirulate… No negotiation… At what point does not burning heat become a human right?

            I mean, nationalizing them is orthogonal to regulating the industry. An industry ran by the government still needs rules and guard rails.

            I do like the idea of doing that, at least as a threat. The rail roads should’ve been over a century ago…
