UK gas distribution firm Cadent has unveiled plans for a 140km purpose-built hydrogen pipeline which would connect energy intensive industries in the Humberside and East Midlands regions of the UK.

    The pipeline would increase HyMarnham Power’s production capacity to over 900MW, a 60-fold increase on existing capacity. Plans were unveiled at the East Midlands Hydrogen Summit.

    I don’t understand. Does HyMarnham produce hydrogen or consume hydrogen for energy production? The article days it’ll connect energy intensive industries, so does that mean they will create hydrogen as a byproduct which will be sent to HyMarnham to produce energy? The article doesn’t make it clear.

      HyMarnham produces hydrogen. It will send that hydrogen to those energy intensive industries.

        Ok, that wording was confusing. I assume that means it can now pump 900MW worth of generated hydrogen through the pipes.
