Tbf (and I have no dog in this fight other than:)

Home invasions aren’t just about “stuff.” Even if “they just want your TV bro” it’s about no longer feeling safe and secure in your home where you “should” be able to (those of us home invaded and untrusting know that there’s not really such thing as total safety, just relative safety, but most expect it even if it is naïve innocence.) What’s more sometimes home invaders steal your TV, sometimes they’re Richard Chase, B.T.K, The Nightstalker, some people get murdered or raped or both in their own home by an intruder. And even in cases of alleged gangstalking where someone(s) breaks in and moves shit around or leaves something rather than even taking anything, with the clear message “we can get in here, you’re not safe.” It’s not about the “stuff.”

Idk, maybe until your home gets broken into and your roommate gets pistol whipped and you’re all too poor to go to the hospital so we just superglued his head back together (didn’t work great, actually), you can’t know how it feels and are just stuck in the materialist “stuff” mindset, but yeah it can really mentally fuck people up actually.

(Of course, the police still don’t help with that as they always show up after, guns help.)

They didn’t say home invasion. But you keep all that info handy for when they do…

Other than that, what exactly is your point? Buy guns?

when I was on the receiving end of a home break in

So you just being pedantic, or what’s good?

Other than that, what exactly is your point? Buy guns?

Well, yes. But also my main point is “you being a callous dickhead with ‘sorry about your stuff’” just makes it clear you’ve got no clue how it feels and probably have only a tangential idea of what “empathy” is at best.

Well Internet stranger who knows nothing about me, I’ve lived a life of violence. I’ve been robbed (at home). I’ve been brutalized. I’ve been raped. I lived on the streets for years. So… perhaps I am callous but I’m sure as hell not ignorant to the plight of the average person. Sorry about your story, life is difficult and dangerous. Same as I’m sorry about the other blokes stuff. You want I should shed a tear real quick because we found another victim of this shitty society? No hired thug is going to change any of this. But we as people could build a better society that puts us first and capital last. Or let’s just say fuck it, buy guns, pretend cops are inevitable, and FTW amirite? I mean some days I’m on the fence…

No I agree the way to fix this in the end is societally, but yeah the way to protect yourself immediately is force, so either become One Punch Man or get strapped.

But as to the other stuff, well maybe you earnestly meant “sorry for your stuff” but it seemed (and often is used by others as in “it’s just stuff” to minimize home invasion victims’ experiences) as if it was sarcastic. If that’s not the case, my apologies. If that is the case you have no clue what this person went through, like for many others it may have been more than just “stuff.”
