      IRL Jed Bartlett would have gotten his ass handed to him by GW or Trump or any dumbass the republicans ran against him. The West Wing has really good story telling but Sorkin has the political instincts of a dodo

        Yeah, same with Jack Ryan in Tom Clancy’s book where he basically gets to be president because everyone else dies. The idea of this ideal president who does everything right is fun to read about, but it wouldn’t work IRL.
