i don’t get what the guy in the middle panel is there for, standing on the dome of the rock. if it’s funny, i don’t get the reference, can someone enlighten me.
oh and that speaker icon is annoying in the bottom right of the lower panel.
i decided to repair the meme by removing these two elements, and then adding alt text. enjoy.

I guess the implication is that in the past we used fleets of fighter jets and armadas of tanks, but in the future, we will deploy as ground support for one floating Jim.
When I was reading Sherlock Holmes (which is set in the late 19th century), I was slightly amused and startled that Dr Watson got hurt in the war in Afghanistan.
In the Benedict Cumberbatch remake set in the 21st century, Dr. Watson is also hurt in the Afghan War.
How mad it must be to be Afghani, people from everywhere constantly invading.
Meh. The Mongols – those were invaders. The US and Brits, both modern and Victorian, by contrast, were basically tourists
Also the Poles, they got their tank back. :D
There is never not a good time to fight a war in the middle east!
Now just imagine if it didn’t have the “Holy land”.
Then it’d just be and thats no fun.
