    While we’re at it: Why is there no planet B? Don’t just tell me there isn’t! If the earth was so great, the market would provide for more than 1 planet

    Because Society 1 just came out not long ago, and they’re gonna milk that life as a service model for all it’s worth.

      Nah, it’s just got a monopoly and the barrier to entry is so high that there is no competition. So they just abandoned it and make sweet money without spending any on maintenance costs or making new innovative products.

    This only makes sense if we’re talking about movies. If we’re talking about software (as the Lemmy title suggests) the question in itself doesn’t make sense because only something that needs improvement needs an update

    Considering AI development, please stay tuned. So, I doubt that we will see “planet of apes” as “society 2”. Sorry, monkey. However, there is still “society 3” possible, depending on our AI overlords. So, as I said, stay tuned.

      I am not optimistic at simians surviving a war of humanity against machines. Frankly, I don’t think they will survive just the presence of humans.
