My profile currently shows that I’ve made 1 post and 11 comments, which tracks with what I remember doing, but only two of those comments (and no post) seem to be showing up in my profile when I view it. Has anyone else had part of their lemmy history vanish into the ether?
Try choosing English and Undetermined in your user’s profile (Settings). If that doesn’t work, select all languages in your profile.
EDIT: I had to choose English in order to reply to you in this post, which means that you’ve probably selected English when posting this. It’s best to not select anything regarding the language and just leave it as Undetermined when posting or commenting.
Oooh yeah this was it. I had previously selected a few, but at some point trying to fix it, I clicked instead of ctrl+clicked and it deselected everything else.

Actually, no, people that have other languages selected or deselected Undetermined might not get the feed. Undetermined is a safe bet that everyone will get the feed.
If everyone has English (or whatever) and Undetermined selected then they should be able to see both English (or whatever) and Undetermined, right? So what’s wrong with posting as English? If everyone posts as Undetermined then everyone will get spammed with every language.
Yes, that is correct, but people sometimes deselect the languages in their profile by mistake and then wonder why they can’t see certain posts… or any posts. Undetermined is a safe bet, because the software prompts you if you deselect Undetermined, which is not true about the other languages.
