So drinking a real-world cow’s milk is ok, but drinking a Zootopia cow’s milk would not be ok because… the Zootopia cow is presumably a full member of society who earns a living by consensually being milked?

        Why?

If the women are fine with it, get a wage from it and can quit any time they choose to, where is the problem?

And just to add to the pile: humans can lactate without the need for pregnancy - even males - and some women can develop a condition called hyperlactation where the body goes full throttle on producing milk, beyond any needs of an infant. And never stop, in very extreme cases.

Sounds a good deal more sustainable and fair than cows milk and a heck lot more efficient than milking trees.

Maybe I’m being cynical but I think humans would find a way to exploit this market and make women suffer, just like we can do with cattle.

Inject women with hormones to make them produce more milk is an example I can think of.

To my knowledge, the use of hormones in milk cattle is banned. And hormones in humans have severe life lasting side effects.

And hormones in humans have severe life lasting side effects.

Not having hormones has pretty severe effects. Women who’ve gone through menopause (or had ovaries removed) and don’t produce hormones often get prescribed hormones to prevent things like osteoporosis. Men with low testosterone get prescribed it. Children who don’t produce hormones don’t go through puberty–in the past, they castrated boys with pretty voices so they’d never have their voice break, and that had severe health consequences on the boys turned into eunuchs.

I’m saying all of this because when it comes to “hormones”, you kinda have to be specific. You can’t just throw it out there like, “oOooOO! Hormones! Scary!” Otherwise you get into a realm similar to how people hear “dihydrogen monoxide” and don’t make the connection between the “scary science word” and the fact that dihydrogen monoxide is water and is necessary for life.

Sometimes I really hate the english language…

Back there, when I mention hormones, it is implied it is non necessary for the normal functioning of the organism.

In my language, using the word “hormones” in a conversation immediatly carries the meaning it is something artificially added, like hormone therapy for menopausal women or hormone therapy for transgender individuals or even for people with thyroid problems.

              At first glance, none.

But then “willingness” and “money” rarely mix well. Yeah, there are humans “willing” to be paid for their plasma but it’s a marginalized part of the population trying to have just enough money to survive.

I’m sorry. I’m trying not to ruin the meme any further.

People donate blood, plasma, sperm and breast milk from all walks of life already. Some get paid too.

If you want it to be about a particular group in can be, but even well off people donate/get money for their bodily fluids.

Human milk is only really strange to us because we normalized drinking cow milk. I see no reason why it’d be odd for zotopia animals to drink cow milk as well. If anything I’d imagine they’d consider the idea of adults drinking milk childish. Irl most adult animals are lactose intolerant so I’d imagine most likely the ice cream in the movie is just sherbet. Ice cream in this universe is probably a dessert for children.

There’s no reason to invent plant milk if you don’t already consume milk. It’s a product that was designed to emulate and replace something else that already exists.

No, they make imitation ice cream now - I’ve seen almond, oat, and coconut milk used. It’s more similar to real ice cream than sorbet is. There’s a noticeable difference but I actually like the imitation ice cream more because it doesn’t have the sour aftertaste I get from milk. The downside is that it’s more expensive; I’ve only ever seen it sold in the premium-priced one-pint containers.

They had a nudist colony in the movie where they very clearly showed rears and crotches that had nothing there. So why was Judy so flustered by their nudity? 🤔 Perhaps it wasn’t because they were naked, but that there were all freaks that lacked buttholes and genitals.

Farming milk involves forcefully insemination cows to get pregnant so they produce milk in the first place. Often times in factory farming, their calves are taken away for “repurposing”. Combine that with the typical living conditions for the average milk cow and it wouldn’t be hard to imagine why people that have any idea of how the industry functions would be thrown off by this.

Imagine human women being treated like this for the milk they produce so that you get to enjoy a cheap pleasure.

We sell breast milk without forcefully inseminating women just fine, this leap of logic doesn’t make any sense. We treat cows as livestock because we view cows as animals not people, whether their treatment is cruel or not is a different irrelevant argument, but in Zootopia they’d just be seen as people and would have control over the supply so obviously cows wouldn’t be treated the same way in Zootopia as they are in real life. They’d only have to milk themselves and sell it just like when women sell breast milk in real life. If anything it’s even less weird and disturbing to think about than in real life.

Humans sell their own breastmilk to other humans for human consumption all the time in real life, it is completely normal for humans to drink human milk as well as the milk or other animals. The only difference in Zootopia is that every animal would be providing their milk consensually and likely selling it themselves. There’s nothing weird about that.

A literal sheeple then tries to have them all muzzled when they just act according to their own natural state to get to taste real red meat.
