Mine is pic related, the Victory Gundam. What I like about it is how modular the mobile suit is. It’s the result of years of ms tech late into the Universal Century where now the Gundam is mass produced. In the show the rebel forces are shown to have a stockpile of Gundams in a bunker so they can burn through parts.

Hell yeah! May not be a Gundam, but it was the prototype that lead to all the other mechs for the Wing series. So I still more or less count it and its sequels on-par with the Gundams. I got an Endless Watlz special edition Master Grade model and was just sick! So was the whole set from that line of models, really need to finish collecting them. Aside from TG I, I have: Deathsythe (non-Hell), Wing (non-Zero), Heavyarms (pre-custom), and Sandrock (haven’t built it yet though). It is nice to see what the original versions look like with the Endless Waltz treatment.
The RX-79(G) is my favorite! I loved it in the PS2 game, it had such a cool loadout to play with.

My cousin had it and I used to borrow it from him along with Fed v Zeon and Zeonic Front, ZF is another gem that gets slept on, it’s like Rainbow Six but with mobile suits.

Journey to Jaburo had an arcade mode with unlockable suits that (I think?) included the Ground type. Might be that one

Confession time: I never knew why the “happy music” (Soldiers of Sorrow) would play during the Jaburo mission. It wasn’t until I got back into anime a handful of years ago and watched the movie trilogy until it clicked lol.
I was too stupid to understand it as a kid, but Zeonic Front still holds up as a pretty cool tactics shooter.

G Gundam has some problematic shit in it. At least the pilot of the Tequila Gundam (yes, it’s called that) is more or less a normal character. The depiction of the pilot and Gundam from Neo-India are just racist.

I’m partial to a lot of the designs from Gundam Wing (which I feel was a visual high-point for the series both in design and in general art / animation quality), as well as the wacky-ass (and yes, at times “problematic”, as in kinda racist) designs from G-Gundam.
In particular, I like Heavy Arms (Custom or regular), Sandrock, Grizzly Gundam (Representing Canada), Zebra Gundam (Representing the entirety of Africa except Egypt for some reason), and whatever Denmark’s doofy fucking whale-transformer Gundam was called. I don’t even actually like that one, but I feel compelled to at least mention it because of how absurd it is.
Yeah G Gundam does encroach into some very old timey racist caricatures of other countries through the lens of Japan.
Zebra Gundam is racist as fuck, which sucks because I think the design is genuinely rad. Also, if anybody hasn’t seen Gundam Maxter, that’s the US gundam from G-Gundam, and it’s fucking hilarious. Chibodee Crocket , the pilot of Gundam Maxter, is canonically the shittiest of the main cast of G-Gundam.

Probably the Ez8 Gundam, for being the closest a Gundam would get to being a grunt suit. GP01, Turn A, Unicorn, Barbatos and Aerial are cool too. (But my guilty pleasures are the Freedom/Strike Freedom and the Wing Zero Custom EW for how stupidly over-designed and OP they are.)

That is a pretty cool design. Also, I wasn’t previously aware that Transformers took anything directly from Macross, but I just looked this up and discovered that the team who created the original Transformers mech designs included Shoji Kawamori, the creator of Macross, which is pretty interesting.
EDIT: Kawamori was just part of a larger team, and other other designers also had a hand in creating some of the more well known Transformers characters. Interesting video on that here.
