Trump’s comments on the shooting that occurred about 36 hours earlier were the first he had made addressing the violence.

Just for a bit more context. It was a 17-year-old who killed an 11-year-old and wounded seven others before killing himself. Trumps entire comment was

It’s just horrible – so surprising to see it here. But we have to get over it. We have to move forward.

Not even “thoughts and prayers”. Not even “mental health is a problem”. Literally, “get over it” not even two days after.

Ah, you see, people were talking about the school shooting and not Trump. So since Trump had zero ideas or desire to stop the school shootings, but an intense desire to be talked about, he told his supporters to get over it and start talking about him again.

If you have never lost someone you truly loved his comment might seem just callous. If you have though, his comment is truly heinous. People lost their lives, people lost loved ones in their lives, this is not a “move on” sort of thing. Their life is forever changed, you can’t get back the life you had before, that previous life is over and your fucking candidate tells you to move on

It’s comments like Trump’s here which makes me think back at the Presidents who have been assassinated in the past and think “why the fuck isn’t this cunt on that list yet?”

Because good presidents are assassinated by crazy, racist, angry people, and all of those people are the ones rooting for Trump.

Also, sometimes people do need a little push to start building their new life after a tragedy. But that’s not “move on” and it certainly isn’t less than two days later. How the fuck are you supposed to move on before you’ve even laid the children to rest?
