if I block a user do they also cease to see my comments and posts? or is it a one way block do they still see my stuff and I just don't see theirs?

You can’t see there’s, they can see yours. And for good reason - if a blocked user was unable to see your posts and comments this means it would be possible to figure out who you’ve blocked in some fashion, which opens a huge can of worms.

Blocking means hiding them from your online experience. Your posts are still public, there is no point trying to censor them… Somebody’s could just create a new account to see them anyways.

But if they COULDN’T see your posts from one account it would actually give them more information: that you have initiated a block. That has social implications and could even make a stalking situation worse.

That doesn’t make any sense. If I suspect that a user has blocked me, I just reply to one of their posts or comments “Have you blocked me?” No answer = yes

Or you know…they just didn’t reply. Not getting a reply doesn’t mean you’ve been blocked.

Give it a reasonable time for response, but it’s no skin off my teeth either way.
