We have all seen posts of men not understanding women’s anatomy. How have you experienced this the other way?

For instance, My wife confidently told me that men who jerk off a lot actually stretch the skin of their penises permanently. If that were the case, mine would be looped around my waist.

Yes, I am aware of Jelqing, it doesn’t work. That is not what she was referencing.

At least in the United States, there is a ton of misinformation about circumcision. Long story short, it’s routinely done to infant boys, and is commonly thought to be healthier. In truth, there is little to no evidence of any medical benefits from circumcision.

Even further, many doctors, including pediatricians, aren’t taught proper care for foreskins. A classic example is that in young boys the foreskin is fused to the head of the penis. It loosens as they get older, and usually is retractable around puberty. It’s important not to forcibly retract the foreskin until this happens, or it can cause complications, including phimosis. Many pediatricians don’t know this, and will retract the foreskin during a checkup, or will give the parents bad advice and tell them to clean under the foreskin during bath time.

This is the one that is so very delicate and depends on genetics and individual development a lot.

Lack of prepuce motility can also lead to phimosis. And lack of hygiene can also make the foreskin a locus of infection. It is not like a vagina that can stay clean and discharges on their own. Any debris or substance that lodges under the prepuce can cause infection so you do have to keep it clean. This is particularly problematic with diaper use that concentrates humidity for too long in genital area. Also, some kids make it to puberty with a fused prepuce and have to have it manually and painfully mechanically separated. While gentle normal washing rub during showers usually helps with the gradual and natural separation.

Like a lot of things in human health, it’s not that black and white. Fuck circumsicion for aesthetic reasons though, that’s genital mutilation, amounts to child abuse and I have seen too many families lose babies to circumcision related complications.

Having experienced it, I could pull it back a little and would clean under there after having had an infection. Def not a good idea to yank it back. It’d be excruciating. I even distinctly remember I could cum before I could pull the skin all the way back. Either way there should be education about it, I thought I was weird until it came all the way back.

Just to add a slightly different bit of medical male blindness.

You know those ads that said you should drink 8-10 glasses of water per day? That’s the recommendation for women. For men it’s 10-12.

My wife was in a panic when we had a baby boy and she realised that male kids, even babies get boners. She thought that didn’t happen till puberty. I told her, that’s why a kid who can’t lift a book can get one at any moment once they hit puberty, cause that thing works itself out without our knowledge or consent and while we sleep. I wish the rest of my muscles worked out while I slept.

Tell her that baby boys even get boners while still inside the womb.

Also, the penis is not a muscle. It gets hard because it contains chambers that fill up with blood.

The corpos cavernosum does indeed fill with blood to cause an erection. There are however several muscles in and attached to the penis.

You have to remember the penis actually extends into the body of the person slightly, and is held by two main muscle groups. The bulbospongious muscle (ever squeeze a water balloon so it stretches tighter? It’s like that for penis blood), and the ischiocavernosus (a check valve for blood basically).

There is also the suspensory ligament, which is how you can make it nod hello.

That actually depends; it’s incredibly difficult for some people.

Part of it depends which muscles you use: if you’re used to pushing with your abdominal muscles, it can cut off the flow.

For those of us with an upward curve it’s a royal pain in the ass to pee that way. Can’t do it standing and sitting you still have to push it at an angle that hurts.

Next time you’re in that situation, try kneeling on one knee and leaning forward and a little to the side.

Let’s you get enough of a downward angle to hit the back of the bowl instead of like, the wall at eye height.
Still a little bending needed, but not enough to hurt, just silly feeling.

I saw some bad men’s anatomy on Twitter today (I know, I know) that claimed that men don’t have breast tissue. No only is that not true, but men can even get breast cancer.

Goes both ways kinda, but: dick and balls are on the front. Vag is on the bottom.

Thus why we don’t constantly sit on our balls. At least until the skin loses elasticity

I have several times experienced women (non-penis-havers) giving definitive statements of how circumcision affects a man’s experience of sex. It was especially ironic because they were telling me that my (circumcised penis-haver’s) experience was wrong.

I’m circumcised and my glans is the least sensitive flesh on my entire body.

Given how many nerve endings are contained in a foreskin and in a glans I’m pretty confident it has affected my experience of sex.

Same, but I’ve learned not to say so in public, lest the flying monkeys of the pro-circumcision crowd swoop in to call me a liar and heap verbal abuse on me.

I’m actually glad that my sensitivity is reduced, as I am sure that I would have premature ejaculation issues if I still had a foreskin.

I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works, based on what my friend (who’s gay and has experience with far more penises than me) has told me. But aside from that, can I ask why you feel the need to say this? It’s a really common reply which changes nothing about my experience, so I always have to wonder what it’s about.

Hmmm just relating my thoughts on being circumcised and why I think it was potentially a good thing for me. Don’t get me wrong, I am not for circumcision, it’s an unnatural and unnecessary thing that we should stop doing.

There is a small amount of truth to what she said- People with Phimosis can sometimes gradually expand their foreskin through masturbation/stretching enough to accomodate their glans, and this can be a permanent fix. Barring very that specific circumstance, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of permanent stretching of dickskin, ever. Theoretically you could, but not with the forces exerted by normal masturbation habits.

Oh God. I am a woman and reasonably experienced, but until I was 40 I had no idea different guys had different penis sizes when erect, I’d had about a dozen guys or so before settling down in my 20s and literally they were all the same size hard, no matter what size they were soft so I thought that was universal.

Not so much anatomy as emotional makeup. My ex thought that every negative emotion I experienced as anger. I’d be sad and she’d be asking me why I was angry. I’d be afraid and she’d ask me why I was angry. I’d be ashamed or frustrated, “why are you angry?”

    It really pissed me off
