I didn’t and don’t. When an interaction occurs I just shut down now. I depersonalise and am unable to acknowledge to myself that it happened. If someone asks I’ll start talking about how bad my hearing is before anything else.

It wasn’t always like this though. For many years i thought that if I experienced trauma I would be aware of it in the moment. For many years i was exceptionally good at being my own advocate. But it catches up. Extremely lucky to have a psychologist who works at a few of the intersections I’m a part of.

That sounds extremely frustrating. I’d ask her to clarify what she means because as far as I know a mandatory reporter only has to report when a person is planning to hurt someone else or themselves. Maybe she’s just not a good fit, too young, too inexperienced etc. It’s pretty standard to go through a couple of different ones before you find what’s right for you. And you need to be able to talk about that stuff openly that’s the whole point of therapy.

That sounds rough but isn’t that what the standard should be though? Accommodation for a panic disorder. Isn’t that the whole point of having a kid, that there’s an implied possibility you may be taking care of them for the rest of your lives?

I wouldn’t have been able to push through panic attacks that bad, phone call or not, it’s likely I wouldn’t be driving again.

Just crushed, hurting a lot. Everything is fine I think. My wife and I are safe. It’s rough.
Have a lot of trauma surrounding this time of year seperate to family stuff which is significant too.
