I use task bar on top with global menus which gives more space for the app. And I even use focus follows mouse, as I enter global menu via shortcut minimizing mouse activity when possible.
For *me* it’s efficient, like I also use single click. It has nothing to do with MacOS (don’t know and care how it’s working there), it’s the DNA of OSS, especially in KDE/Plasma: customisability @Michal
