Is it time to install TikTok?

Is immigrating harder nowadays? My parents moved from Russia to Germany in 2004, and it sounds like it wasn’t really that hard. My dad just had to find a job first to prove secure income and then we could move 🤷 My husband’s parents came over around the same time on a jewish reparation program, because some of their ancestors used to live in Germany. They always said it was pretty easy as well.

Definitely stainless steel pans! They take a bit to get used to, but they’re so much more convenient because you don’t have to baby them like teflon pans. Cleaning is also much easier, I just scrape them down with a metal spatula and throw them in the dishwasher.

My main meal yesterday was just potato wedges, I ate too many Nutella sandwiches for breakfast :')

How are the people close to you reacting to you doing Veganuary? (Did they even notice?) My husband is pretty supportive and helpful in eating all of the perishable foods that I can’t have. A lot of “Wait, x isn’t vegan? That must be annoying”

I think being intelligent gets you better jobs and more money sooo 🤷

Yesterday was a bit crappy, the sausages aren’t as good when they’re made in the air fryer :(

Is there anything you’re missing so far?

Surprisingly, not really? I mostly miss how many savoury foods just don’t taste as good, but it’s really not as bad as being on a diet.

How many chains did you do on the ends to turn? This tutorial is saying to do 4. It looks to me like you either did less than that or your chains were a bit tight, which maybe made you lose track of them at the ends?

I use a radiant heat panel in my snakes Terrarium, the human-sized versions of them look pretty promising imo. You could install one on the ceiling right above your work desk so that it radiates the warmth down. They might be a bit on the pricey side though.

What’s your New Year’s resolution?

I don’t really do New Year’s resolutions, but “Get shit figured out” is always a good one haha

This is also a good time to consider not having kids at all. Imagine how bad Internet brainrot will get in 5-10 years.

A larger mass loses less thermal energy because it has less surface. So the snakes bask during the day and store up heat, and then huddle together to keep that heat around for longer. Same as a big rock would hold heat for longer than separate tiny pebbles would

I have to admit that I won’t be on good terms again with my sibling for a long while. They did some very distressing things this year that were a large contributor to my burnout. Never apologized for it, never tried to fix anything. I’m done with that tbh

How are you spending New Year’s Eve today?

My partner and I are spending the evening at my parents’ house. The swap is gonna be tricky for me, my parents are really weird about Veganism so I’m not telling them shit. Just gonna have to fake a tummy ache tomorrow or something 🤷
