Have you tried any non alcoholic beers? Some aren’t terrible but not sure if there are any that are fruity though.

I’ve moved away from GR over to StoryGraph for the most part. Found it suits my use case quite well.

I’d assume social media promotion is a big one. I also found some authors through kindle unlimited years back that I now follow.

I hit All occasionally to see if there’s a community that catches my eye, it’s rare but it does happen so I’ll subscribe.

I also block the ones I have absolutely zero interest in ever seeing again. It’s simple to do.

Not sure I have a favorite really, but I tend to enjoy the chapters that follow Perrin or Matt more than the other parts of the books.

In general, I’m enjoying all the books so far though, reading them straight through.

The Path of Daggers, book 8 of Wheel of Time. I’m maybe 4 or 5 chapters in so got a ways to go.

These laws are disgusting. The only silver lining is that, at least for digital items, the resources can be found outside of libraries fairly easily from sources that don’t require age verification.

Security is crazy hard and having perfect security is impossible. Kudos to the dev team for resolving this so quickly.

If the changes in one app will never be pulled into the other, completely separated would probably be fine but I’d personally just fork it due to sheer laziness.

I’m finishing up A Crown of Swords this evening.

As someone learning Rust right now (reading through The Book and doing rustlings), most of the basic concepts have been straight forward and easily carried over from the languages I currently work with.

However, as someone who hasn’t touched c or c++ in the 20 years or so since university, the ownership stuff has made my brain hurt. That section in The Book has been a real slog for me and I’ve had go through that section several times now, but still haven’t truly ‘got it’ yet.

All that said, I do like the compiler helping ensure I’m writing good code and in that regards, I can see why the author says that Rust is easy. Instead of beating your head on a desk trying to track down some obscure bug, with Rust, there’s a good chance it’ll tell you where the bug is and why it won’t let you compile (at least based on my beginner understanding).

Most of my day as a Senior is wading through red tape and piecing together out of date internal documentation so the rest of my team doesn’t have to deal with it. Maybe some coding, if I’m lucky these days.

I’ve been using Hover for years with no issues. I moved there years back when the godaddy fiasco happened.

Love the series, I’m reading through A Crown of Swords now, about half way through it.

The first book that comes to mind was ‘The Stand’ (King). The first time I read it, I was 13 or 14 years old and the story sucked me in like no other book had before. I still remember choosing to read it over watching some of my favorite TV shows (back when time-shifting meant VHS recordings).

Heheh. Sometimes if it’s getting close to going home time, but I just had an epiphany, I’ll add comments to my code so I can remember my train of thought for the next day. Then I promptly forget to remove the comment after I add the code because I get pulled into some other ‘emergency’.

I’m slowly working my way through The Complete Wheel of Time. I got sucked into that universe when I watched the show on Amazon last fall and have been working my way through the books ever since then.

While it’s not my typical read (I’m more of a scifi/horror type), I’m definitely glad I found out about these books and am working my way through book 7 right now.

For me, I’d have to lean towards Peter Capaldi with probably Matt Smith and David Tennant a very close 2nd and 3rd.

After watching the first season though, I do wish that Eccleston would have had more time as the Doctor. My first run through that season he didn’t click with me, but after the 2nd or 3rd time through, I grew to have a certain appreciation for his style.
