I have to agree. There’s a real housing crisis in Guelph, especially first years. Taking a spot when you live in the city and can easily commute takes a spot from someone else who doesn’t have the option to commute. At its peak the housing waitlist was 1356 I believe, mostly first years. Parents had a hard time finding off campus housing and many had to go elsewhere. I wouldn’t expect TBP to care about that though. Ideally they would just have enough residence spots for everyone though but apparently can’t count on Guelph to care about that either.

It’s pretty disgusting. Imagine all the students who are absolutely stressing about a place to live or how they will even be able to afford it if they can manage it.

I totally agree. If she really wanted the experience of living separately they could have converted the basement apartment for her. Taking public transit at ungodly hours is part of going to university, and would have been doable. It really showcases how much they don’t have to worry about money, otherwise M probably would have chosen one of her multiple living options to avoid accumulating even more debt. I absolutely would have if I had gone to school in the same city as my parents instead of having to pay off all my student loans until I was almost 40. There are a lot of kids who have to delay going to school this year because they can’t afford the living accommodations on top of school tuition.

Edit to add: I was paying back that many years for a degree that I didn’t even finish. Talk about wasted money.

We don’t know that she is at University of Guelph do we? I don’t even want to speculate but I kinda hopped she was going to OCAD 🙂.

Edited to add - I see you did some sleuthing 😂. Priviledged SNL has never demonstrated any care for others so that’s not surprising.

I was 😂! One thing about our Lenny page that I like is that it does seem a little less intense. You informed me kindly to keep me in the know. On the Reddit page every once and a while if you posted something not everyone agreed with it felt like fellow snarkers were coming at me. I didn’t like that part because we were all part of the community for a reason and us being united felt important. When we were intolerant of different ideas it just seemed we were as bad as Sarah and her clique.

Just something positive to share about everyone who’s come over here. 💕

Are you Canadian? Just curious how much dorming costs are? My son goes to a state school in SoCal and it costs me just under 10K per year living at home. Dorming would triple costs 😵‍💫

Tuition is about the same here. Residence looks like 6500-11,000 at Guelph depending on the room type. On top of that you also have to buy a mandatory meal plan for most residences (I think there are 1 or 2 you don’t need to because they have shared kitchens). Tuition is about 8000 but from my understanding that would be waived in this case as she has a parent who works at the University.

I feel like everyone here knows who the 1st husband is and I can’t find it. I know the last name and I think I found a brother. It’s killing me in my “need to know!” Organ! 😂😩
